My Picks: Kansas Governor — Holland-Kultala
Tom Holland and Kelly Kultala (no other candidates, thankfully, Herbert West III!).
Keeping it short, both of these folks make perfect choices for our party’s nomination—they have both governed from the center with an eye on Kansas before any special interest or party line. Instead of participating in political hackery, both of these state senators got down to business in the last legislative session and passed a budget that was a mix of $1.3 billion in government spending cuts and $300 million in new, though temporary, revenues for a 10-year comprehensive transportation bill, to stop the continued slash-and-burn cuts to public education, and to prevent millions in cuts for our senior citizens (Meals on Wheels) and disabled communities (DD waivers).
The Senators know first hand what it takes to make jobs and improve the quality of education in Kansas, and, because of that demonstrated ability to perform under pressure inside the Green Dome, the Tom Holland/Kelly Kultala ticket will be extremely credible against a down-in-the-polls Sam Brownback in November.
